Chief Charley Bones of the Spokane Indian reservation appeared before Justice Dye, charged with swearing in front of a woman. He was fined $1.00 and court costs.
The Edwall warehouse company has been incorporated at Edwall for $12,000. It is understood that the new company will operate the former Edwall Grain company elevator.
A man who was arrested at the Pioneer picnic and charged with having moonshine in his possession was given a $100 fine and a 30 day jail sentence after a trial by jury.

A flash flood and combined hail storm hit the area north of Davenport causing widespread damage. The worst damage was found at the Whitney ranch, Chase farm, Jacobsen ranch, and Raugust ranch.
Mrs. Constantine of Odessa Hospital Staff will hold nurses aid classes for four evenings. This instruction is free of charge. Nurses Aids are needed on a on call basis.
The Davenport swimming pool has opened for the season under the wathcful eye of lifeguard Bob McCaffrey. The city crew cleaned the pool and made some repairs in the bath house prior to opening.

The Davenport Times will be under new leadership when recent WSU grad Dan Deighton takes the helm next week. Deighton replaces Linda Carlson who is leaving after 3 years.
Whoever cut a hole in the Strate Building over the vault in Clarence Hemmerling’s office decided not to follow through with whatever plans they had. After the hole was discovered the Sheriff’s office staked out the building.
Swim Instructor Marlene Overmyer invites Reardan residents to sign up for Swim lesson in Davenport. Lessons for all ages will begin July 14 and includes students from pre-school age to adults.

The Marlin Hutterian Brethern was fined $34,300 by the Washington State Department of Ecology for irrigating 125 acres of land without having water rights or a required water measuring device.
The Harrington School Board is still searching for a new music teacher for the coming school year. The directors have contacted several colleges and have posted the opening on a couple different websites.
The Lincoln County Commissioners have appropriated $5,320 to reimburse the Lincoln County Fair for repairs to the roof of the main building.

Lincoln County Relay for Life raised $15,900 last month. Funds from the annual event are used by the American Cancer Society in the fight against cancer.
The city of Davenport is encouraging residents to be water conscious this summer. Hot and dry conditions prompted city officials to ask residents to conserve water so they don’t have to enforce restrictions.
The Odessa School Board is looking for a full time ag teacher. While they are looking they are exploring other options to satisfy ag credits and are looking into work based learning options.
