Cheer camp boosts Davenport High School squad's skills

DAVENPORT — Six Davenport High School varsity cheerleaders attended Camp 395 from June 26-29, a three-day intensive training hosted by Lilac City Cheer Academy at Jenkins Senior/Junior High School in Chewelah.

The camp marked the first summer cheer camp for Davenport High School since before the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted such events.

The team, the smallest among six schools in attendance, embraced a rigorous schedule, spending 12-hour days in the gym honing their skills. They resided in classrooms during the camp, fostering camaraderie and teamwork. The cheerleaders learned two dance routine...
