Bail kept at $50K; faces class A felony

DAVENPORT - A 20-year-old Cheney man accused of sexually assaulting a woman in Davenport plead not guilty Tuesday, Sept. 2, in Lincoln County Superior Court.
Andre Marcel Devous was arraigned on one count of second-degree rape, a Class A felony punishable by up to life in prison and a $50,000 fine.
Superior Court Judge Adam Walser presided, with Dave Hearrean appointed as Devous' public defender.
Walser denied Devous' request to be released on his own recognizance, citing his history of failing to appear in court. Bail was maintained at $50,000, and Devous will remain in the Lincoln County Jai...
