Sprague man negotiates plea deal; end in sight

SPRAGUE - A local man's legal case could soon reach a resolution as both sides work on a plea agreement, with potential sentencing looming.

David Gene Keener, 69, faces one count of unlawful imprisonment for allegedly confining Amanda "Mandy" Cook, with whom he was in a dating relationship at the time, according to court records. He is represented by public defender Dave Hearrean, and Superior Court Judge Adam Walser is presiding.

Keener appeared for a readiness hearing Tuesday, Sept. 2, where the case was continued to Tuesday, Sept. 9. The trial remains scheduled for Sept. 24.
