GRAND COULEE - A high-energy football jamboree at Lake Roosevelt High School on Aug. 30 showcased eight-man football with the host Raiders, Davenport Gorillas, and Tonasket Tigers. The scrimmage, featuring two-hand-touch in the pocket and tackle plays starting at the 40-yard line, used a round-robin format with each team running 10 offensive and defensive plays twice.
Davenport, coached by Tim Rasmussen, relied on a young roster. Junior running back Asher Petersen gained a first down against Tonasket, while freshman wide receiver Bayler Oestreich caught a touchdown pass against Lake Roosevelt....
