The young son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Heid of Larene suffered a fractured collar bone after the horse he was riding fell on him while on the way home from school.

H. H. McMillian of Davenport started the drive for funds for Whitworth College in Spokane with a $30,000 donation. Mr. McMillian has long been a strong supporter of Whitworth College and one of the buildings on campus is named after him.

Jake Bastrom, janitor at Odessa school, has been the busiest man in town since the scarlet fever quarantine has been in effect. He has cleaned and disinfected the whole building.
