Grants fund staff development, mentoring

ODESSA — The Odessa School District #105 approved two grants to support staff development and mentoring programs during its regular board meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 22.

The board accepted an anonymous $37,000 grant for professional development and a $5,500 BEST Mentor grant to fund mentoring for new staff members. Superintendent Steve Fisk said the funding will be used to support teacher training and classroom instruction.

Fisk reported the district’s general fund balance at the end of September was $795,240.51. Payroll for the month totaled $330,800.01, with general fund expenditures of $79,6...
