New family-friendly restaurant is coming
REARDAN - A new family-friendly restaurant, Kornfed Ted's, is slated to open the first week of December. The restaurant is owned by Doc and Louise Williams who promise to bring "hometown flavor with an All-American menu" to the community.
The restaurant's namesake, Kornfed Ted is a 2-year-old Australian Shepherd and movie star who has an upcoming role in Netflix film Train Dreams, scheduled for release on Nov. 21. Kornfed Ted, known for his striking "ghost eyes" is showcased on the restaurant's sign and will be available to meet.
The restaurant will feature smash burgers, house-made soups, sandwiches, pizza, wraps, hand-scooped hard ice cream and house-made waffle cones, along with old-fashioned milk shakes, beer and wine.
"Our goal is to craft all of our food with care and to bring families a hearty house-style dining experience," Louise said. "We want to create a place where families can relax, enjoy good food and feel right at home."
"Another goal is to host special events and to provide a gathering place for community organizations and clubs," Doc said. "We'll also cater special events, either at the restaurant or at other venues like the Community Hall."
The restaurant, located at 305 W Broadway, will be open from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday through Saturday for lunch and dinner. They anticipate opening a bar in the spring and eventually hope to offer breakfast.
