CHEWELAH - It was a long afternoon for the Reardan baseball team on Tuesday, April 14, as Jenkins limited the Screaming Eagles to one hit in the Cougars’ 13-0 victory in a five-inning affair shortened by the mercy rule.
It was a game defined by Jenkins pitcher Ryen McMillan’s dominance on the pitching mound and the Cougars’ aggressive base running.
Luke Heindl led Reardan offensively, going 1-for-2 to account for the team’s lone hit.
On the mound, Reardan used Jacob Bodeau, Noah Chambers, and Justin Rafford, who combined to pitch four innings while allowing six hits. Reardan dealt with defensive miscues, committing five errors that allowed extended innings and added pressure throughout the contest.
Jenkins took control early and steadily added runs in each inning, highlighted by a big fourth inning that put the game out of reach.
The loss dropped Reardan to 2-8-1.
The Screaming Eagles do not have to wait long for redemption.
They return home this Friday, April 17, for a doubleheader with the Cougars.
