ODESSA — Increasing long-term patient beds at Odessa Memorial Healthcare Center would bring in revenue and shrink Medicare cost-report checks, a consultant told the Lincoln County Public Hospital District No. 2 (Odessa) board Thursday, Aug. 27.
The district oversees the hospital.
Certified swing beds for Medicare and Medicare Advantage patients at a skilled-nursing level are paid at 101% of reasonable cost, Tre Peterson of Wipfli said. Medicare advances $10,000 a day and settles the rest on the annual cost report.
