Lights stay dark in Odessa

Mayor: Withhold payments to Avista

ODESSA — Eight to 10 streetlights remain out around town, including some that have been dark more than a year.

The issue of getting the lights on was the topic of discussion during the Monday, Sept. 14, Town Council meeting.

During the session, Mayor William Crossley said during the town may hold its power bill payments until Avista shows up.

Lynn Schmidt told the council that the Lions Club light has been out more than a year. He also listed the bank corner, the first pole coming into town on the right-hand side, Second Avenue and Alder, and both ends of the bridge.
