Gorilla football holds off Manson 28-20

MANSON — Davenport scored first and never trailed in a 28-20 win at Manson on Thursday, Sept. 11.

Coach Trenton Briney said it was a hard-fought game after a three-hour bus ride and a tough home-field advantage. The Gorillas went up by two touchdowns late. Manson returned a kickoff in the final minutes and made it a one-score game. Davenport then converted fourth down to pick up a first down and run out the clock.
