The Davenport Football team had to forfeit its game with Vera High School due to most of the backfield players being out with injuries.
Following the resignation of Chief Deputy Sheriff Cecil Fisher, Sheriff Gilpatric named Ed Spinning to fill the position. Mr. Fisher resigned to focus on his campaign for county Assessor.
The building and contents of the Mills-Keller Motor company is a total loss after it was destroyed by fire. The building was owned by J. H. Luiten and leased to the motor company.

Mr. and Mrs. Loeffelbein of Odessa, just returned from a trip to Medicine Hat Alberta and they reported that halfway through the wheat harvest there the rains came one day and the next, 2 inches of snow.

The lights at Davenport’s Hering Field are “a tragedy waiting to happen,” according to Superintendent Gary Greene. Replacing the lights will cost the district $35,000.
Reardan Indians football team suffered what is being dubbed the KXLY curse last week when they hosted the Ritzville Broncos. It seems that all the teams visited by the local television studio’s Friday night sports program have lost the game the show attended.

The 46th annual Deutschesfest was well attended and enjoyed by many despite the rain during the parade and the hour-long power outage.
Davenport’s bowling alley is the proposed site of a retail cannabis store. Mayor Brad Sweet noted that this would generate tax revenue that the city hasn’t been eligible for until now.
