Sales tax nears yearly budget

DAVENPORT — Lincoln County collected $1,204,242.16 in sales tax through the third quarter, Treasurer Emily Hansen said Monday, Oct. 19. That is about 96% of the $1.25 million budgeted for the current year.

Hansen reported the figures to the county Finance Committee.

In addition to the sales tax, criminal justice funds reached $494,333, or 110% of budget.

Hansen said a $1 million county investment matured at 4% during the third quarter. Hansen bought a $1.3 million investment at 4.25%.

The committee also discussed placing another $1 million in a five-year investment at 4.8%.
