The official filing period for the fall elections will be held June 6 through June 10, 2011. All offices are subject to both primary and general elections. Golf AFter the 1st round on Tuesday, May 24, defending champion Kira Powell was second place in the state 1B/2B tournament behind Brumfield of Rainier Christian by one stroke. The District 1B/2B tournament was held at the Deer Park Golf Course May 18. The boys’ team finished fourth. Alex Hatten, Brett Larmer and Griffey Powell competed for Odessa-Harrington. The Math Olympiad teams competed Saturday, May 7, 2011. Every year the Harrington School District sends teams to Eastern Washington University to compete in a math competition called Math Olympiad. Parents of current fourth-graders at P.C. Jantz Elementary School, represented by Kim King and Carmen Weishaar, made a presentation to the school board April 27 concerning the lack of a fifth grade teacher. Harrington High teacher Mike Cronrath, the advisor to the Washington State Field, returned to the school to find his room re-decorated. It has been a tradition for the seniors to decorate his room to welcome him back. This year’s theme was “Princess Room.” Cronrath discovered his classroom was turned into a “pretty in pink” bedroom. Jacque Sewall died April 13, 2011, in Davenport at the age of 74. Her home was Harrington. She was born March 28, 1937, in Fargo, N.D. to Golda Frederick.
