The Titan golf team traveled to Colfax for a 9-hole match with a shotgun start at 2:30. It was a pleasant surprise to find the weather was very nice, about 55 degrees and no wind. The competition was played under winter rules due to the course being very wet. The Colfax Golf Course is a 9-hole par 35 course. The Bi-County Academic Competition for children in grades 3 through 8 was held in Reardan recently and was attended by nine area schools, including Odessa and Harrington. Awards were presented to the top six students in each category (spelling, math, speech and geography) and for each of the six grade levels. Each category had anywhere from eight to 25 participants. Stan Wills was one of the two gentlemen who came to Reiman Park in Odessa to demonstrate Colonial era clothing and other items, including muskets and coins. Michael Cronrath, social studies teacher in the Harrington School District, has announced plans for an eastern seaboard trip from Smithsonian Student Travel in 2013.
