ALMIRA - An Aug. 10 wheat fire burned 50 acres near the intersection of Williams and Old Coulee roads, resulting in the total loss of a combine. Earl Joseph Meise, 97 of Odessa, Wash., passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 27, 2020 in Odessa. Earl was born April 28, 1923, in Quincy, Ill., to Fred and Alvina Meise. 1 years ago July 9, 1920 Rainmaker Hatfield is reported to have packed up his equipment and left Moses Lake last week. Although many gave him credit for bringing when he first set up at the lake, very few had any faith in him as a rainmaker when he left.
