Back on November 16, Kaedin Schorzman did an outstanding job at the Washington State FFA tractor driving competition in Moses Lake. He placed sixth out of 97 contestants, scoring 289 out of 300 points. This was the first time in a while that Odessa's FFA chapter has competed in tractor driving, so being able to take two teams and place sixth is quite an accomplishment, said FFA advisor HaLee Walter. The Odessa High School chapter of FBLA delivered 553 meals to 44 local senior citizens as part of their community service project. Using $100 from Spokane Teachers Credit Union (STCU), they purchased supplies to decorate 200 caramel apples which they sold at various events throughout October and November. Odessa police are investigating a suspected case of vandalism from October 26 at the main water reservoir on the south hill near the large, lit “O” also located there. The public works crew had received an alarm indicating that communication with the reservoir had been lost. The telemetry antenna atop the reservoir was found to have collapsed onto the roof.
