Linda Kay Burghard died February 19, 2015, due to complications of a severe stroke. She was born December 15, 1944, to Harvey and Ulla Haase in Ritzville. She worked as a caregiver for Shirley Libsack for approximately four years. After that she managed a Sears Outlet store combined with Lyndie’s Ceramics. She enjoyed creating pieces and helping others. After closing the Sears Outlet and Lyndie’s, she worked as the clerk/treasurer for the Town of Odessa until she retired in December of 2013. Leroy Kuest, a native of Odessa, died Saturday, February 21, 2015, at Rockwood at Hawthorne care center. Born in Odessa on August 25, 1918, he was the last of seven children of Julius and Rosena Kuest, who had homesteaded in the area before 1900. Leroy graduated from Odessa High School, worked for the local Richfield service station and in 1942 joined the U.S. Air Force. The Odessa Lions Club is in the midst of its latest community service project, refurbishment of the public restroom located on the west side of the public works building and across W.
