On Saturday, February 28, Odessa’s Knowledge Bowl team came away from the regional competition held at Whitworth University in Spokane with a second-place finish which qualifies them to go to the state competition. Linda Kay Burghard died February 19, 2015, due to complications of a severe stroke. She was born December 15, 1944, to Harvey and Ulla Haase in Ritzville. She worked as a caregiver for Shirley Libsack for approximately four years. After that she managed a Sears Outlet store combined with Lyndie’s Ceramics. Originally, it was thought the pie was purchased at the Hospital Foundation Auction and Wine Tasting last spring, but no record of that donation was found. Linda Kay Burghard was born Dec. 15, 1944 to Harvey and Ulla Haase in Ritzville. She passed away Feb. 19, 2015 due to compoications of a stroke. Geraldine (Jerry) Goetz died on Feb. 21, 2015 in Odessa. She was born in Roxton, Texas on Dec. 31, 1924. Her parents were the Reverend T.T. Smith and Leola Bell Tidwel. William L. (Bill) Myers (79) died February 14, 2015. He was born in Port Townsend, Wash., where he lived until his retirement from the Port Townsend Fire Department in 1981.
