April The Cattle Producers of Washington (CPoW) and the Livestock Producers Cooperative Association (LPCA) held their annual meeting in the Odessa Community Center. The two organizations worked diligently to make the livestock processing facility at the Odessa Industrial Park a reality, and the meeting celebrated their progress. The Odessa Chamber of Commerce celebrated the close of 2014 and the beginning of 2015 with a community gathering at the Odessa Community Center on December 31. Odessa medical staffers have begun to see people testing positive for Type A Influenza. The CDC has indicated from data that the current flu season could be severe. The CDC continues to urge immediate vaccination for anyone still unvaccinated and recommends prompt treatment with antiviral drugs for people at high risk of complications who develop the flu. Harrington Public Library recently received six CDs from Georgia Dover of Eagle Point, Ore. containing interviews with her father, the late Frank Gateley, taped in 1984.
