DAVENPORT – It appears that this year’s ammo shortfall didn’t encourage the deer population to reveal themselves to hunters, as early hunting season has netted the smallest harvest in some time. “It’s probably one of the slowest, non-eventful deer seasons I’ve ever worked,” Officer Curt Wood of the Department of Fish and Wildlife said. Janet passed away peacefully on October 23, 2020 in Davenport, WA after a long battle with Dementia. Janet was born January 2, 1934 in Spokane, WA to James and Genevieve Clinton. Although COVID-19 restrictions cancelled the Lincoln Hospital Foundation’s annual Sharing Hearts Luncheon, volunteers were still able to raise over $27,000 in funds last month by collecting donations. The “Sharing Hearts” effort raised over $27,000 for a special project, $340 to grow the Endowment Fund, and $840 to add to the medical scholarship for scholarships to go to Lincoln County students going into a medical field. REARDAN – Three options for the 2021-2024 levy were discussed at the school board meeting Sept. 30. Currently, the levy is set around $1.3 million per year, which equates to $2.08 per $1,000 of assessed property value within the district. All three options would set the rate at 2.10 for 2021, before a change in 2022-2024. The first option would be a significant tax reduction.
