The Chicks with Sticks golf league wrapped up its 2015 nine-week season Monday evening with nine of the 11 teams playing a nine-hole, shotgun-start scramble. The overall league winners were the Wedge Wackers team consisting of Lanae Carper, Cathy Strohmaier, Maria Schuh and JoEllen Wollman. The women’s golf league enjoyed another round of play last week. Andrea Largent-Gorman won with a six-foot putt on the #4 hole. In recent issues of The Record we have shared the involved paperwork that early homesteaders had to complete and how they even had to involve their neighbors in the successful completion of the “patent” granting them the homestead. On June 30, Odessa rural resident Larry D. Zagelow was injured in a single-car accident that took place 17 miles northwest of Odessa, according to the Washington State Patrol. The report by law enforcement stated that the vehicle was southbound on State Route 21 at milepost 73 when it drove off the right shoulder, rolling several times before coming to rest on the west side of roadway.
