The girls escaped from the home several weeks ago and were arrested in Reardan for vagrancy and sentenced to 10 days in jail. ODESSA - The annual Deutchesfest celebration got underway Thursday night with tricycle and bed racing. As the bright sun slowly set on the west end of Division Street, it was 3-year-old Connor Douglas of Odessa by a block, the first tricycle racer to win a heat. Douglas was crowned ages 2-3 champion. Josephine Winchell was born in Hood River, Ore., in 1863. Seventeen years later she married William Ditmar, 25. They claimed a quarter in 1880 and homesteading in 1886. They also claimed a timber culture in 1889, but this was not proved until 1898. In 1893, they were divorced.
