The Lions Club Easter egg hunt was held last Saturday at Reiman Park, with plenty of children on hand to enjoy the hunt, followed by playtime on the playground (more interesting to some of the kids than searching for plastic eggs). Danielle Tebow was crowned at the Miss Odessa Pageant held Sunday, April 9, at Any Occasion Banquet Hall, and Maleah Davison will serve as Princess Odessa. A mailbox at the home of Shirley Johnson at 405 E. First Avenue in Odessa was essentially destroyed Saturday, April 1, prior to about 10 or 10:30 a.m. The mail carrier that day notifed the homeowner that the mailbox was damaged when the attempt was made to deliver that day's mail. The mailbox itself was thrown into the yard and its post was thrown off kilter. The Desert 100 off-road motorcycle endurance race may have been the largest ever judging from the size of the campsite at the corner of Irby Road and SR 28. The issue of parking next to the community center was discussed by the council with input from police chief Tom Clark. OLYMPIA – Spring is here and that means drivers in Washington have until Friday, March 31, to remove their winter studded tires. The Washington State Department of Transportation reminds drivers that state law requires all studded tires to be removed by the end of the day March 31.
