Esser: Snowpack not an issue here

RITZVILLE -- While some farmers in the state may be concerned about water contained in mountain snow packs, dryland farmers here have learned to do without.

That’s the word from Aaron Esser, Washington State University’s Extension Office agent here.

“For the most part across Lincoln and Adams counties, and dryland Eastern Washington, a lot of our winter wheat crop is in the good-to-excellent range,” Esser said. “I’ve seen fairly good stands of wheat across the region.”
