Danielle Tebow was crowned at the Miss Odessa Pageant held Sunday, April 9, at Any Occasion Banquet Hall, and Maleah Davison will serve as Princess Odessa. These two juniors from Odessa High School vied for the title by submitting a written essay, answering questions put to them by the judges and expressing their willingness to represent Odessa at parades throughout the summer months in towns in eastern Washington. Lincoln County Auditor Shelly Johnston has announced that the official filing period for the fall elections will be held May 15 through May 19, 2017. All offices are subject to both Primary and General Elections. If more than two candidates file for a position, the Primary Election would narrow the field to two candidates who would then appear on the General Election ballot. The O-H Titan golf team has had a slow start to its season due to weather conditions. The first match at Odessa was cancelled due to poor course conditions. The team played Inchelium at Harrington March 21, with John Tanke leading the team as the low scorer. Ritzville won the next match on March 28, where Colt Sanford was the best scorer for the Titans. The Harrington Library Board hosted a "Legos in the Library" after-school event last Thursday. Thirty Kindergarten through eighth-grade children brought bags and boxes of Legos to have a building extravaganza! A crowd filled the cafeteria of the Odessa schools March 8 for the special meeting called by the Harrington and Odessa School Boards for the purpose of discussing further the athletic cooperative between the two districts. The group was about evenly represented by people from Harrington and Odessa. Harrington Opera House Society The Society met Monday evening, March 6, for its monthly meeting in the Art Room of the opera house. Present were Billie and Gordon Herron, Bunny Haugan, Cade Clarke, Sheryl Stedman, Cherie MacClellan, Carol, Linda Wagner and Marge Womach. This year the secretary sent out 186 newsletters which have brought in donations and memberships. Grants from the Washington State Library and Inland Northwest Community Foundation mean that kids in Lincoln and Adams counties can take advantage of a fun summer day camp beginning this July. The day camp program, called Stimulating Summers, will be available in Reardan, Harrington and Lind. The day camp will run for six weeks beginning July 3 and ending August 11.
