Beginning in 2010, as part of the goal to provide health education for our community, the Odessa Healthcare Foundation began sponsoring a class called Babysitting Basics for youth ages 10-18 interested in improving their skills as a babysitter. The classroom of Kindergarten/first grade pupils taught by Taunya Sanford spent the month of March learning about how life begins. With the help of Linda Colbert, students put fertilized eggs into an incubator in the classroom and began the 21-day count to hatching.
