The Odessa Athletics Hall of Fame committee has resumed meeting in Odessa this spring to select inductees for the 2018 third annual induction ceremony to be held at the Odessa High School alumni reunion on June 16. At the beginning of this school year, Michael Jeske, a member of the Odessa High School Class of 2000, experienced a relapse of the cancer (lymphoma) he was diagnosed with in 2011. At that time, he received an autologous stem cell transplant. Darrel Dean Tanke, 78, passed away February 15, 2018, at his home in Hillsboro, Ore. Darrel was born in Odessa to Walter and Elsa (Roth) Tanke on July 15, 1939. Along with his older sister and brother, Darrel was raised on the family wheat farm at Mohler, Wash. He attended Harrington schools, graduating from Harrington High School in 1957.
