Odessa medical staffers have begun to see people testing positive for Type A Influenza. The CDC has indicated from data that the current flu season could be severe. The CDC continues to urge immediate vaccination for anyone still unvaccinated and recommends prompt treatment with antiviral drugs for people at high risk of complications who develop the flu. Harrington Public Library recently received six CDs from Georgia Dover of Eagle Point, Ore. containing interviews with her father, the late Frank Gateley, taped in 1984. To the Editor: In the U.S.A. automobile fatalities take 30,00 plus lives annually. Amtrak trains are much safer than cars. I am a very grateful subscriber to your paper and I strongly believe Odessa needs an Amtrak train stop.
