With the passing of Barbara Bush this past week, it seems appropriate to share her recipe for Chocolate Chip Cookies. During the 1992 Bush/Clinton presidential campaign a family favorite from each of the candidates wives were shared with the public. On Monday, April 2, 2018, 10 students spent the first day of spring break in the basement of the Odessa Memorial Healthcare Center becoming certificated babysitters. This brings the total to 103 students who have participated in a Babysitting Basics class. A family reunion is being planned for all descendants of John Adam and Katherine Schoessler Weber in Quincy over the Memorial Day weekend. The Webers emigrated to the United States in 1902, following sons John Adam (Magdalena Giest) in 1889, Jacob in 1901, Christian and Henry in 1902, along with one daughter, Katherine (Fred Reider). Monday, March 19, Fronen Steppdecker, The Odessa Quilt Club, hosted their 23rd Annual Quilt Til You Wilt, one-day retreat at the Odessa Community Center.
