Harrington Christmas bazaar And what to my amazement was all that commotion and clatter; I rose from my seat and raced into the streets to see what was the matter. Sirens, more and louder sirens, closer and faster, as though the whole city were in a disaster. No Prancer, no Dixon, but oh, what a sight; Santa hanging on to the rear of the fire engine so tight. Children were rushing to see who was coming, and before long Santa was taking his seat in the opera house lobby....

The Grant County Sheriff’s Office and Royal City Police are investigating three complaints of fraudulent phone calls from an 800 number. The caller claims to be from the Grant PUD and requests the person called immediately send money or have their power shut off. Today’s victims were three churches in south Grant County, one in Schawana, two in Royal City. None of the churches sent money; rather, they called the police. Clearly these calls are a scam. If you receive a call from anyone demanding money, ask them for a call bac...

Neither effort bore fruit, and ultimately the couple decided they were best off staying put in the Cheney area. Jones will work at Sacred Heart Medical Center in...

And those who have had coverage this year should investigate whether there’s a better deal available to them for coverage that will kick in...

It is an honor to serve as your state representative, and I look forward to continuing the good work we have started. I recently returned f...
There is a misconception about the Lincoln County Fair and its funding. The fair is funded by a few different sources. The first is the Department of Agriculture, which supplies approximately $32,000 (the money that is up for review every two years). Additional funding of $25,000 comes from our own county. The rest comes from winter vehicle storage, off-season events, signs purchased, wristbands and entry to the fair. The Lincoln County Fair Advisory Board struggles yearly to put on a good fair with limited funds. A...
