Recently, Kami and Garret Braun, Kara, Jenaka and Gunnar Nelson and I enjoyed a cruise on the Baltic Sea, where we visited seven countries. The trip was a high school graduation present for my grandsons, Garret and Gunnar. Nearly 700 Avista Utilities customers in the town of Odessa will experience a power outage on Wednesday, July 23, from 10 p.m. until 6 a.m. on Thursday, July 24. The outage is required to create a safe environment for crews to work while upgrading the substation that serves the town. Four employees of the Odessa School District retired at the end of the school year in early June. Together, the four of them put in over 100 years of service to the district and the community. The Harrington Opera House Society Rummage Room held its function on Tuesday, June 17, during the 11-4 p.m hours of the library's book sale. Considering it was on a weekday, there was a better than anticipated donation of about $160. Rain did not deter the treasure seekers. The Bureau of Reclamation is advising people camping on the Lake Roosevelt shoreline over the July 4 weekend to be aware of dangers that could exist due to rapidly rising lake levels.
