Communities unite to honor veterans

DAVENPORT — Communities across Lincoln County are preparing a series of events to honor local service members and veterans ahead of Veterans Day.

Davenport will host two events, beginning with a Veterans Day brunch and service at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11, at Zion Lutheran Church, 1007 Washington Street. A light brunch will be served, and veterans, families and friends are welcome.

The Davenport School District will also hold a Veterans Day assembly at 9:45 a.m. Monday, Nov. 10, in the high school gym. Refreshments will be available in the high school commons at 9:30 a.m.
