This past Saturday, the Big Red Barn Farmers Market in Davenport hosted a Farm-to-Table event. Local chefs, Adam Hegsted and Aaron Fish prepared a five-course meal in which all the food was provided by market vendors and travelled no more than 45 miles to the table. To the Editor: Around three years ago, T-Mobile received a little more than $19 million in Federal FCC grant money to build multiple towers around the United States. More to the point, they received approximately $3.3 million to build five 300-foot-tall telecommunications towers in Lincoln County. Curtis E. Finck was born February 28, 1925 in Elgin, N.D. to August and Matilda Finck. Curtis grew up in North Dakota and in 1945 joined the U.S. Army where he served until his discharge in 1946 at Ft. Lewis, Wash. On June 1, 1952, he married Sylvia Bartalamay in Odessa, and they farmed and raised their family. Sylvia passed away in 1998, and Curtis continued to live in Odessa until his death on August 21, 2014 at the age of 89. He is survived by four children: Nancy Gillen,...
