HARRINGTON — The city is considering canceling its garbage program and directing residents to contract with Sunshine Disposal directly, mayor Jesse Silhan confirmed this week. Currently, residents pay the city for garbage services as part of their water/sewer/garbage bill, and the city in turn pays Sunshine. “If anybody doesn’t pay their bill, we’re on the hook for that,” Silhan said.
