A few weeks ago, Odessa High School Junior Cole Kissler submitted an application to become one of Washington State's Aerospace Scholars and on November 24, 2015, Cole found out he was selected. Washington Aerospace Scholars is an educational program for high school juniors from across Washington state. P.C. Jantz Elementary School will again be hosting an Unwrap the Gift of Reading event for students in pre-K through fifth grade. Students and parents are invited to enjoy a story time, snacks and caroling. New and popular projects and activities will be offered in the game and craft centers. Members of the local Girl Scout Troop have had a busy October and November with outings to the long-term care wing of the hospital, the Quail Court assisted-living facililty and the Odessa Historical Museum. The Odessa Lions Club's 74th annual Turkey Carnival is Saturday, November 21, at the Odessa Community Center. The action kicks off at 2 p.m., with food being served.
