The Odessa Lions Club's 74th annual Turkey Carnival is Saturday, November 21, at the Odessa Community Center. The action kicks off at 2 p.m., with food being served. Bingo games begin at 3 p.m. and continue until all of the turkeys are gone. After bingo, the drawing will begin for raffle prizes. At their regular monthly meeting November 5, members of the Old Town Hall Rejuvenation Society (OTHRS) met to discuss future events and fundraising opportunities for the group. The Odessa FFA chapter’s annual Halloween Carnival was held October 31, from 4 to 6 p.m. in the Odessa Community Center, with old games, new games and lots of fun for young and old. The Cub Scouts of Pack #784 in Odessa will once again be “Scouting for Food.” Over the past several years, the Cub Scouts have collected thousands of pounds worth of food. Nate Lathrop, owner of the Green Goat Gathering Gallery has announced a date for the second annual Car and Bike Show, formerly held in July. A reunion of Fred Bohnet, Sr.'s descendants was held Saturday, September 26, at the Wilson Creek School Commons. The reunion was hosted by Doris Bohnet Jasman and Kathy Bohnet. Nearly 100 attended. Some traveled from California and Nevada to attend. There were 11 children in the family who grew up on the farm in the Ruff area: Zelamia, Albert, Fredrick Jr., Ted, Rebecca, Sophie, Tressa, Martha, Julia, Hanna and Esther. Cade Lawrence Weber has been named to the Dean’s List at the University of Washington for spring 2015 quarter. To qualify for the Dean’s List, a student must have completed at least 12 graded credits and have a grade-point average of at least 3.50 (out of 4). WSECU announced it has awarded a college scholarship to Odessa resident, Carsen Weber. Weber will attend the University of Washington in the fall. Odessa Memorial Healthcare Center would has welcomed Ryan Carpenter to the Physical Therapy Department. Carpenter was born and raised in Moses Lake, with family in and around Odessa.
