The National FFA Organization has awarded the Odessa FFA chapter $2,500 as part of the FFA: Food For All program. The nationwide program provides grant money to local FFA chapters to support year-long, service-learning projects that address local hunger needs. The Odessa FFA plans to help fight hunger by having the horticulture and landscape design students from the Vocational Agriculture Department and FFA members teach elementary students how to raise their own vegetable garden. Last week the Titan junior high basketball team traveled to Creston to take on the Wilbur/Creston Wildcats. The varsity created several turnovers on defense which lead to a 64-14 victory. The junior-varsity team played a hard-fought battle, coming up four points short with a final score of 20-24. Last week Thursday, the team traveled to Reardan to take on the Indians. The junior-high boys basketball season has begun with a large turnout of 25 kids in all, eight sixth-graders, seven seventh-graders and 10 eighth-graders. Last week Tuesday, the team traveled to Lind to take on the Lind/Ritzville/Sprague Broncos. The varsity team won 55-11, and the junior varsity won 35-17.
