    Odessa's new police officer Leslie (Les) Jimerson was administered the oath of office by Mayor Bill Crossley Monday evening. He joins Police Chief Brent Dell, as both men are getting acquainted with Odessa and its citizens. The two officers also have been taking quite a ribbing due to the fact that they share the same hairstyle, are the same age and have the same basic build. Strohmaier, Judge Criminal sentencings A jury found Paula Machele Gardner, 38, of Spokane, guilty of first-degree burglary and possession of a controlled substance other than marijuana in connection with crimes committed on Feb. 10 of last year near Reardan. Her Feb. 26 sentence includes 140 months in prison, 18 months community custody, $500 court assessments, $350 restitution to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office and $2,570 restitution to the victim.     Lincoln County Treasurer Jody Howard has completed the 2019 Tax & Assessment roll for collection, providing notification the treasurer shall now accept payment and issue receipts for 2019 taxes and assessments per RCW 84.56.020.   • New schedule is set for filling of East Low Canal

    The East Columbia Basin Irrigation District will begin filling the East Low Canal for the 2019 irrigation season later than originally planned due to weather on Saturday, March 24, 2019. The original startup date was March 20. Deliveries from the East Low Canal will begin on March 28. Deliveries to the East District’s Block 49, from the Potholes East Canal, have also been changed due to weather, and will begin to be available April 3.
