A fire of unknown origin near the Lamona home of Rachel Walter came very close to destroying the family farmstead last Saturday afternoon. The wind was a major factor, as it kept changing direction, causing Odessa firefighters to make rapid decisions about where to position their trucks to best contain the blaze. Needhams With many alumni coming into Harrington and a number of class reunions occurring on Friday, September 22, on the eve of the Fall Festival, the Church of the Nazarene hosted the return of the Needhams to the Harrington Opera House. With a brief introduction, the Needhams began another spectacular performance to an audience of nearly 70. Most of the songs were written by the Needhams. DAVENPORT—In an effort to double-down on its mission to serve all of Lincoln County, Davenport Theatrical has announced a new name, Wheatland Theatre Company, and a season of four upcoming productions, with performances throughout the region. The Harrington Food Bank director, Pastor Cade Clark, has many patrons from Odessa who frequent the Harrington facility. He reminds patrons of the times and dates that the food bank is open. On the first, second and third Saturdays of each month, the food bank hours are 11 a.m. to noon. Harrington Fall Festival Dawn found the city alive with activity and excitement. Prior to 9 a.m. the city was alert and businesses open. Students, teachers and many community members gathered at Finney Field last week to repaint structures there that have been purple for the duration of the Odessa-Harrington athletic cooperative.
