DAVENPORT — Most of the United States was under some winter storm warning over Christmas weekend. As a result, temperatures dropped several degrees below zero around Lincoln County. While it was cold (-12 for Davenport, Odessa and Harrington), previous winters were bitterly cold. According to the National Weather Service, the lowest recorded temperature for January for Davenport was in 1996 (-28), 1950 (-27) and 1979 (-24). DAVENPORT—Lincoln County Commissioner Mark Stedman, a 10-year veteran of the seat, sat on the board at a regular meeting for the final time Monday, Dec. 19. ODESSA—Town Council approved the 2023 budget at the final hearing on Monday, Dec. 12. The 2023 budget includes renovations to the community center, which will have new floors, a roof and several upgrades to the offices and library.
