ODESSA – The Odessa High School baseball team finished up their 2021 season with only a single loss in a non-conference away game against Brewster that followed a recent win against the same team at home. The Tigers had a fine season, for the most part dominating their opponents with very lopsided wins. DEER PARK – Davenport's Kristof Panke hasn't been touched in league play yet this season, but he faced his toughest challenge on the biggest stage to date at the district qualifying match May 3 from Wilbur senior Bectett Odengaard. ODESSA – The Odessa Town Council met April 26 in the community center with a full complement of council members but missing Mayor Bill Crossley. Mayor pro tem Kelly Watkins chaired the meeting. After dealing with financial matters, the council discussed the recycling program provided to the town by Lincoln County. Ruth Ott Droz Schaefer passed away in her sleep on April 16, 2021. She was born May 24, 1923 at Ritzville Wash. She was the fifth in the family of ten children of Jacob and Victoria Ott of Irby, WA. Ruth attended the one room school in Irby and graduated from Odessa High School. She went on to Washington State College and graduated in 1946.
