The junior-high boys basketball season has begun with a large turnout of 25 kids in all, eight sixth-graders, seven seventh-graders and 10 eighth-graders. Last week Tuesday, the team traveled to Lind to take on the Lind/Ritzville/Sprague Broncos. The varsity team won 55-11, and the junior varsity won 35-17. After a long and hardy life and a brief illness, Agnes Turner passed away on January 14, 2016. Agnes was born to Frank and Marie Sis on May 10, 1914, in Rawlins County in the northwest corner of the state of Kansas. Agnes had five brothers, Frank, Anton, Charles, Joseph and Rudolph and two sisters, Mary and Anna. Carol J. Schuh passed away January 13, 2016, in Davenport. Her home was in Harrington. Carol was born January 4, 1931, in Irby to Henry and Marie Kiehn. She attended school in Ritzville and was a cheerleader and tennis player and graduated in 1949.
