    OLYMPIA — Residents who become unemployed due to government actions to reduce the spread of the COVID-19 coronovirus won’t have to worry about being evicted, at least for the next month. During a press conference this afternoon, March 18, Gov. Jay Inslee said he signed an order preventing landlords from evicting people who fall behind on rent after being sent home from work due the “WuFlu” pandemic. “I’m issue a statewide moratorium on evictions for failure to pay rent for the next 30 days,” the governor said.   • Fairchild announces first COVID-19 case

    AIRWAY HEIGHTS, WASH. -- Fairchild Air Force Base officials have announced that one of their airmen has tested positive for the COVID-19 virus. In a March 16 news release, officials said they are monitoring the situation after samples sent to a Department of Defense lab produced positive results.     PASCO - "We won!" That was the reaction from Franklin County Commissioner Clint Didier earlier today, March 12, after a King County judge vacated most of a previous injunction on Initiative 976. That injunction has prevented the $30 car tab initiative from going into effect statewide. But today, King County Superior Court Judge Marshall Ferguson vacated most of the injunction.     DAVENPORT – The Lincoln County Commissioners placed a moratorium on new licenses for commercial marijuana growing businesses in the county during its meeting Wednesday, Feb. 18. The moratorium passed with unanimous consent and is effective for up to six months, with an option to extend.     It will soon be possible for Odessa residents to pay their water/sewer/garbage bill using a debit or credit card. The town has received an offer from Armada Corp., a Kennewick-based company that provides debt collection services, as well as processing of credit/debit cards for payments.
