    DAVENPORT – The Department of Natural Resources instituted a burn ban for all area in Lincoln County north of Highway 2 beginning at dawn April 16 due to concerns over high winds and dry conditions, unless one had a DNR permit.     DAVENPORT – Weekly mass vaccination clinics hosted by the Lincoln County Health Department begin April 22 at the Lincoln County Fairgrounds. The vaccination clinics, which are expected to be funded on a reimbursement basis through FEMA grant money, will take up a large chunk of the 100 doses the health department hopes to disburse each week.     REARDAN – Council passed two resolutions regarding the Ballfields Safe Walkway Project at its brief, 20-minute April 15 meeting. Both resolutions authorized mayor Gail Daniels to request grant funding for the project. The first, Resolution No. 185, gave Daniels the all-clear to request state grant reimbursement for expenditures related to the project.     DAVENPORT – Starting Monday, May 3, 2021, the Third Street exit will be completely closed at Lincoln Hospital and the Davenport clinic. The entrance and exit to the parking lot will be on Nichols Street. The change is due to construction on the parking lot and is happening as part of the new Davenport Clinic building construction.     DAVENPORT-The small refueling tank at the airport where pilots can come park their plane, fill up with gas and take a break in the pilot's lounge needs to be refilled about once or twice a year. Because the tank is less than 10,000 gallons (total, it's 3,000 gallons), the city is charged a small fuel tax, or "short load fee."
