Strohmaier, Judge Criminal Sentencings Timothy Albert Evenson, 31, pleaded guilty April 9 to third-degree escape in connection with his failure to report on Jan. 2 to begin serving four months in jail, part of his sentence for second-degree trafficking in stolen property that was handed down Nov. 27, 2018. History Pioneer days must have been terrifying when a fire was out of control. One of the earliest recorded fires in Harrington was that of a saloon building owned by F.B. Wright that was totally destroyed by fire on a wintry January night in 1893. The fire caught from a defective flue. The building was a wooden structure and burned rapidly. Two men were sleeping in the building, F.C. Lee and Harry Long, and they were nearly suffocated by the intense smoke. The only item salvaged from the burning building was the piano. The... Full story
The Inland Northwest Rail Museum opens its third season at its Reardan location on Friday, April 5. From opening day on, the museum will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays until the season ends on December 15. Over the winter months, volunteers have rearranged and categorized many of the museum artifacts and memorabilia by railroad so visitors can better learn the history of railroads in the Inland Northwest. The State House of Representatives recently passed two bills sponsored by 13th District Rep. Tom Dent and one bill by newly appointed Rep. Alex Ybarra (who fills the post vacated by Matt Manweller).
