The state track meet for 1B, 2B and 1A schools took place last Friday and Saturday at Eastern Washington University in Cheney. The Odessa track and field teams acquitted themselves well, with the boys 4xl00 relay team ascending to the top of the podium as state champions in that event. Kunkel, 27, of Davenport, pleaded guilty May 14 to solicitation to commit delivery of marijuana, amended by prosecutors as a result of a plea agreement from illegal delivery of marijuana to an underage individual. Cruizin' Harrington Beautiful skies and weather prevailed for the 8th Annual Cruizin' Harrington event. Main Street (not Third St) was barricaded for vendors at its junction with Third Street, and traffic flowed slowly and smoothly throughout the day. There was a sufficient breeze to unfurl the flags that lined the streets and the cemetery. (May 17, 2019) Last November the Economic Development Council introduced a new Opportunity Zone that coincides with US Census tract 53043960400 and includes the municipalities of Odessa, Harrington and Sprague. Opportunity Zones provide tax incentives related to long-term private investment in areas that suffer from a lack of business growth.
