Gloria G. (Grosso) Wraspir, 83 years old and a longtime resident of Irby, passed away on December 16, 2015 in Spokane from complications of Parkinson's Disease. Gloria was born September 27, 1932 in Omak to Julius (Jack) and Gladys (Grace) (Beeman) Grosso. For 14 years, coach Mark Poth has draped a basketball jersey over a chair, and his Vikings players have tapped the #40 jersey as they were introduced for the Ryan Floch Memorial Games. Richard (Dick) Laney was born February 18, 1928 in Spokane, the second child born to Joe and Margaret Laney. He made heaven his home on December 15, 2015. In 1933 the family moved to Lamona, to the family ranch. He spent a short time as a cook in the army, including a tour to Okinawa, Japan. He left the army to return to the family ranch. Clark Miller (77) was born October 5, 1938, to Fred and Katherine (Gies) Miller in Ritzville.He was raised in Odessa through 10th grade and graduated from Davenport High School in 1956. Odessa's Christmas Fest last week Wednesday at the community center was well attended by folks from the town and the surrounding area. Each of the vendors attending the Fest donated an item to be used as a door prize. Entry for the door prizes was free, and the prizes were awarded throughout the day. The Washington State Transportation Improvement Board has awarded the town of Odessa the sum of $171,470 for the installation of sidewalks on First Street from Fourth Avenue to Marjorie Street.
