Andre Marcel DeVous, 21, of Cheney, pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of third-degree assault in exchange for a 17-month sentence, including nine months of exceptional confinement. DeVous will also serve 12 months of community custody and pay a $500 victim assistance fee. DeVous was initially arrested for rape.
